Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags are small growths of tissue that often develop in areas where skin folds or overlaps, such as the neck, underarms, or groin. They can vary in color and size, ranging from 1-5mm, with rare cases reaching 1-2cm. Skin tags are more common in adults over 40, especially those with diabetes, obesity, or a family history of skin tags.

Treatment options include cauterization, which destroys tissue using heat, cold, or chemicals, and laser therapy, which involves using lasers to precisely cut and remove the skin tag. Both ablative CO2 laser and plasma pen can be used, depending on the size and location of the skin tag.

Indications: 

Skin tags in areas of skin folds or overlaps, skin tags causing irritation or cosmetic concerns 

Anesthesia: 

Local anesthesia may be used for comfort during the procedure, depending on the size and location of the skin tag. 

Possible side effects: 

Pain or discomfort during or after the procedure, redness, swelling, or irritation at the treatment site, risk of infection or scarring, especially if proper aftercare is not followed
